GOLDEN OWL AWARDS 'BEST WEBSITE'
We hope you will find our website interesting and informative. If you would like to know more about us please use the enquiry button to send us an e-mail or telephone the school.

Great Rissington School is a small primary school set in a picturesque Cotswold village location. We cater for children from 4 to 11 years of age, split into 3 classes. We currently have 91 pupils on roll.
Our excellent teaching staff is supported by classroom assistants in every class, ensuring lots of individual support.
We pride ourselves on the high academic standards our pupils consistently achieve. Small enough to cater for each individual child, we are able to aid their development at this crucial stage in a friendly setting.
From 1998 to 2004 we were privileged to have Beacon School status, which came about as a result of our excellent Ofsted inspections and the quality of the education which we provide.
We were asked by the DCSF to share elements of our good practice with colleagues both locally and further afield. Many conferences were held on themes ranging from parental involvement to self-evaluation and leadership. In 2004 we gained self-evaluation accreditation status from the LA for the quality of our self-evaluation procedures. In 2006 we were awarded Healthy School Status and we were successful in gaining the ICT Mark for our excellent provision in ICT. In 2008 we achieved our first Green Flag from ECO Schools for environmental sustainability. We also achieved Active Mark and Sports Mark for our quality provision in PE. Our Ofsted report and our SATS results speak for themselves, but we Elizabeth Bannister Headteacher
believe the best way to get a flavour of life at Great Rissington School is to
come and see us in action!
