All children participate in practical
musical activities, which include

rhythm, pitch, and notation work.

We have a variety of percussion instruments and children are

encouraged to use them in creative

music making and in performances.

We have a monthly music focus on

an instrument, composer or style.

Appropriate reference and audio

material is made available for the

children.

Peripatetic teachers visit the school to teach piano, flute, guitar and clarinet.  This is organised by the Local Education Authority and is supported financially by the parents of children taking these lessons.

Every term children who have instrumental tuition have the opportunity to perform to the school in a Friday Achievement Assembly.  This helps to build confidence

and enhances the school's policy of positive

encouragement and recognition of a variety of talents.
