Admissions

Great Rissington School adopts the current LA Policy for admissions.

The priority order for accepting children will be siblings of children already at the school, children from Great Rissington and then children closest to the school geographically.

We attract children from the following areas:-

There are 12 places available at the school annually for Reception children.

Parents of new entrant Reception children will be contacted early in the summer term to arrange a preliminary meeting.  Reception children will be invited to spend 2 sessions in School during the summer term prior to their entry to help them become familiar with the new classroom and teachers.  They will be invited to use the 'Rainbow Packs' on a weekly basis.

In the first half term of school parents are normally asked to collect children at midday. In the second half term children will normally be expected to stay for whole days. We feel that it is important for children to be settled into the full day routine as soon as they are ready. Children who are very young (i.e. only just 4) or who tire easily may need to be given the opportunity to continue for half days for a longer period.

Registering Siblings

It is very hepful if you can register siblings as soon as possible as it helps with our forecast of school numbers.  Please come to see Mrs Minchin in the office to request a form if you have a pre-school child.
